Research Thesis Paragraph!!!

Throughout history, the United States has used different tactics in order to become such an imperial power, by: invading different countries, implementing democracy by “fighting communism”, going to war, having military bases, open free markets, etc. Many countries have been influenced and in most cases controlled by the U.S. But there is one exception in the Western Hemisphere and that is Cuba; which became communist on January 1, 1959 with the rise of Fidel Castro, and has been able to stop U.S intervention from their regimen . Ever since the Cuban Revolution there has been a bitter rivalry between the U.S and Cuba, were many political disputes have occurred from both sides, which has caused a very intense dislike of one another. For the United States, Cuba was always seen as threat and based on their Anti-Communist ideas, they have tried to overthrown its government and implement democracy; But all their attempts have failed and at the end Cuba has been able to maintain it's communist government and policies alive; But what made this possible? Having such a small country fighting and preventing influence/intervention from such a world power the U.S.

Great start, Edison . . . I'm a little confused by the last sentence: does it answer the question you've posed in the second to last? Try reworking.

Also pay attnetion to semi-colons: use only to link two complete sentences and don't use a capital letter afterwards.

Do you think that Cuba made a good decision? Do you think that America's decomocratic ideas are good enough to be spread around by them?

I like how you gained the readers attention by sayin that America has gained control of alot of countrys except one. And then you went on to explain that its Cuba and how they maintained there government.

I agree with Tommy - setting up your country as an exception to the rule captures our interest. I think it's good to have the
Roshanara's question in the back of your head: how has Cuba both benefitted from and been hurt by this ongoing conflict?

I'll keep that in mind... Thanks a lot for the comments.

Roushanara, I think that Cuba made a great decision by staying away from U.S intervention, which I think every country should do. We have all seen how the U.S has taken advantage from poor countries and has made them miserable, but from the democratic socialist point of view, I'll say that some democratic ideas, applied in the U.S are great and I believe that socialist leaders should consider implementing some democracy in their rule, to give a better living to the people.
